Four bobbleheads. Two stadiums. Six days. Sixty miles of freeway, total. The anti-road-trip.
4 bobbleheads. 6 days. 30 miles apart. The August Blockbuster.
Forget driving 700 miles along the East Coast. Forget mapping out three states. The August Blockbuster is the inverse — plant yourself in Southern California for a week and the bobbleheads come to you. Monday through Saturday, the Dodgers and Angels deliver four collectibles spanning a 2024 World Series moment, a Disney crossover, a living legend, and a Dodger from the '70s.
The Brewers also roll into Dodger Stadium for the 2025 NLCS rematch. Last time these two met in October, the Dodgers swept Milwaukee 4–0 on their way to the World Series.

Why This Week Hits
Each bobble has its own story:
- Max Muncy (Mon): The Game 7 home run from the 2024 NLCS. The swing that sent the Dodgers to the World Series.
- Mickey Mouse (Wed): Disney + baseball. The Angels' character bobbleheads consistently rank among the highest-demand giveaways in the league. Families and Disney pin traders crossover into the bobble market hard for these.
- Clayton Kershaw (Fri): The greatest Dodger of his generation. Three Cy Youngs, an MVP, a World Series ring. Kershaw bobbles always draw — and the clock is ticking on his career.
- Reggie Smith (Sat): "Legends of Dodger Baseball" Series. Smith hit .300+ twice as a Dodger from 1976–1981 and made two All-Star teams. The deep-cut collector pick.

Day 1 · Monday, August 10 · Dodger Stadium — Max Muncy
Game: Royals @ Dodgers · First Pitch: 7:10 PM PT Bobblehead: Max Muncy "Game 7 Home Run" Bobblehead
Trip starts with the Game 7 moment. Royals are the opponent — relaxed crowd, manageable lines, a stadium that won't be a mob scene. That said, Game 7 bobbleheads always pull the dedicated collectors early.
Arrival Strategy: Monday + Royals = manageable. Gates open 5:10 PM (2 hours before first pitch). Be in line by 4:30 PM. If you're flying in, LAX to Dodger Stadium is 30–40 minutes without traffic — plan for an hour.
Pro Tip: Monday is your lightest crowd of the trip. Use it as your scouting game — figure out parking, food vendors, gate flow. You'll be back here Friday and Saturday when it's busier.

Day 2 · Tuesday, August 11 · Off Day / Explore LA
Game (no bobble): Royals @ Dodgers · 7:10 PM PT · Salvadoran Heritage Night Ticket Pack
Two reasonable plays:
- Catch the Salvadoran Heritage Night. A cultural-themed night without giveaway pressure. Good "scouting" night for Friday and Saturday's crowds.
- LA exploration day. Hit the beach (Santa Monica, Manhattan, Hermosa — 30–45 min from Dodger Stadium). Or Hollywood + Griffith Observatory for the iconic LA views. The Getty Center is free admission and has views that rival any ballpark.
If you're driving to Anaheim tomorrow, consider moving your hotel south overnight to beat morning traffic.

Day 3 · Wednesday, August 12 · Angel Stadium — Mickey Mouse
Game: Rangers @ Angels · First Pitch: 7:10 PM PT Bobblehead: Mickey Mouse Bobblehead Stadium: Angel Stadium, Anaheim
Disney + baseball. Angel Stadium is less than 10 miles from Disneyland, and the Angels' character-crossover bobbleheads pull a different audience than every other giveaway in the league. Families who don't usually attend baseball show up. Disneyland adults who don't follow the Angels show up. The parking lot has a Disneyland energy to it. The Disney bobble is consistently the Angels' highest-demand giveaway every year, no matter who they're playing.
Arrival Strategy: Disney bobbles draw heavy. Gates open 2 hours before first pitch (5:10 PM). Be in line by 3:30–4:00 PM. Use the Big A entrance off Orangewood Ave for shorter walk to gates.
The Drive: Dodger Stadium to Angel Stadium is ~30 miles via the I-5 South. LA traffic budget: 45–60 minutes. Without traffic: 30 flat. Leave by 2:30 PM for the buffer.
While You're There: Anaheim has the strongest post-game food scene of any SoCal stadium neighborhood. The Anaheim Packing House (a converted citrus warehouse turned food hall) is 5 minutes from the stadium. Downtown Disney is free entry and 10 minutes up Harbor Blvd.
Bonus: The Rangers — the 2023 World Series Champions — are in town. Not a named rivalry, but real star power on both sides.

Day 4 · Thursday, August 13 · Rest Day or Disneyland
Game (no bobble): Brewers @ Dodgers · 7:10 PM PT · Korean Heritage Night Ticket Pack
The Brewers series opens at Dodger Stadium with no giveaway. Three options:
- Scout the atmosphere. Korean Heritage Night is consistently one of the Dodgers' best-attended theme nights. Worth seeing the energy before Friday's Kershaw rush.
- Disneyland. You're already in Anaheim. If you got the Mickey Mouse bobble last night, carrying it around the park is peak energy.
- Rest. Four games in six days is a marathon. Sleep in, hit a pool, recharge.

Day 5 · Friday, August 14 · Dodger Stadium — Clayton Kershaw
Game: Brewers @ Dodgers · First Pitch: 7:10 PM PT Bobblehead: Clayton Kershaw Bobblehead
"Once a Dodger, always a Dodger" - Kershaw is the most beloved Dodger of the 21st century. Every Kershaw bobblehead night draws. Combined with the 2025 NLCS rematch atmosphere (Dodgers swept Milwaukee 4–0). Final promotional images for this giveaway have been kept under wraps, but the team previously offered a limited-edition Platinum 3,000 Strikeout Kershaw bobblehead to early-renewing season ticket members.
Arrival Strategy: Earliest arrival of the trip. Friday + Kershaw + NLCS rematch = busy. Be in line by 3:00–3:30 PM for a 7:10 PM first pitch. The Elysian Park entrance (Scott Ave) tends to have shorter lines than the main gates on Vin Scully Ave.
The NLCS Rematch: The 2025 NLCS ended in a 4–0 sweep — Dodgers over the NL's best regular-season team. Milwaukee fans haven't forgotten. The atmosphere on a Friday night with this backdrop will lean playoff.

Day 6 · Saturday, August 15 · Dodger Stadium — Reggie Smith
Game: Brewers @ Dodgers · First Pitch: 4:15 PM PT Bobblehead: Reggie Smith "Legends of Dodger Baseball" Bobblehead
The grand finale, and an afternoon game. The "Legends of Dodger Baseball" series honors lesser-known franchise greats — players who don't get standalone bobblehead nights anymore. Reggie Smith made two All-Star teams as a Dodger and hit over .300 twice. The "Legends" series typically pulls smaller crowds than active-player bobbles, which makes Saturday your easiest grab of the week.
Arrival Strategy: 4:15 PM start = gates open ~2:15 PM. Be in line by 1:30 PM. Saturday will draw, but "Legends" giveaways historically have lower demand than active-player bobbles. An hour before gates is comfortable.
The Final Game: Four bobbles spanning four eras and four audiences. Grab a Dodger Dog on the Top Deck, watch the sun set over Chavez Ravine, and close out the week.
Budget Breakdown
| Category | Estimated Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tickets | $150–$350 | 4 games · Dodger reserve $35–$80 ea × 3 + Angels $30–$60 |
| Hotels | $500–$900 | 5 nights · LA $120–$180/night |
| Gas | ~$15 | ~60 mi total. Yes, really. |
| Parking | ~$100–$140 | Dodger Stadium $35 × 3 + Angel Stadium $20–$30 |
| Food | ~$100–$200 | Stadium + LA restaurants |
| Total | ~$850–$1,600 | Per person, 6 days |
Fifteen dollars in gas for four bobbleheads. Hotel is your biggest expense — but since you're parked in one area all week, book a single location (Pasadena/Eagle Rock works: equidistant to both stadiums with good food and parking).
Pro Tips for This Trip
- Wednesday is your hardest grab, not Friday. Counter-intuitive, but the Mickey Mouse bobble pulls from an audience (Disney fans, families, non-baseball folks) that's used to Disneyland-line discipline. Don't underestimate it.
- Kershaw bobbles hold value. If you're collecting for trade, Kershaw bobbles consistently move on secondary markets at $50–$100+. Protect it on the way home.
- Saturday's 4:15 PM start helps. Earlier first pitch = no sun glare in the reserve level, cooler temps, and an easy exit before LA's Saturday-night gridlock.
- Stay in one hotel all week. Unlike the I-5 Dream or I-95 Express, you don't need to move. Pasadena, Glendale, or Eagle Rock are all 15 min from Dodger Stadium and 35 min from Angel Stadium.
- Friday night Brewers tickets will be a scalper target. The NLCS rematch narrative is real. Buy now if you're going.
Make It Yours
The Full Week (4 games in 6 days, as written): The complete experience. Fly in Sunday, game Monday, rest/explore Tuesday–Thursday (with the Angels Wednesday), then close out Friday–Saturday.
The Weekend Warrior (2 bobbles in 2 days): Can't take the full week? Fly in Thursday night for Kershaw (Fri) and Reggie Smith (Sat). Back-to-back Dodger Stadium, two high-quality bobbles, done by Saturday evening.
The Disney Family Edition: Build the trip around Wednesday's Mickey Mouse bobble. Disneyland Thursday, Universal Studios Friday, then either the Kershaw game Friday night OR a beach day. Frame it as a family vacation that happens to include some baseball.
The Freeway Series Extension: If the Angels add giveaways later in August, this becomes a full SoCal Freeway Series tour. Check our Trip Planner for updates throughout the month.
The NLCS Rematch — Why Friday Hits Different
The Brewers and Dodgers haven't met since October 2025, when LA swept Milwaukee 4–0 in the NLCS. Milwaukee had the best regular-season record in the NL. The Dodgers didn't care. Four games, four wins.
For the Brewers, this series is a grudge match in regular-season clothing. For the Dodgers, it's a chance to celebrate at home. For collectors, it means Friday's Kershaw game has playoff-level energy. Loud crowd, invested fanbase, fast-moving giveaway.
